Success

[Monday the 11th: 30 minutes on treadmill; Saturday 16th: 4 miles on S. Grandview]

On Thursday Nov 7th we drove to Marion, Illinois in preparation for my wife’s participation in the Tunnel Hill 50m/100m race. On Friday we loafed around the hotel and drove down to Vienna, IL, the start/finish line and the pre-race packet pickup.

Saturday was race day, we were on site pretty early in the morning, ready for the 7 am start. This particular race has two out-and-back sections. So my role was limited to attendance at the start, the middle (roughly) and the finish.

After the start I went back to the hotel, ran on the treadmill, did some work on my laptop and watched TV. I was back around 12:30 and ready for the refuel stop and away she went on the north loop.

Then in the evening I was back in good time to watch her finish with a personal best time for the 50 mile distance. A very good day.

Sunday we drove the 6+ hours back to home in Dubuque.

We’ve been having some trouble with our radio station back in Mississippi. My temperature monitor shows that the A/C has died for some reason. When the weather is cold it stays in an OK temperature range. But today it was nearly 100 in the transmitter shack so I’m periodically shutting off the transmitter to let things cool down. We hope to get down there soon and do some computer work and also do whatever needs to be done to get the A/C going again.

We are also coming up on our license renewal soon. Can you believe it was 6 years ago, October 2013, when we started on this radio station project.
