I woke up a bit early this morning so I turned on the Uber app on the chance that I might get an early call for an airport run.
And it turned out that I did. About 6 AM I got a call into a hotel in Columbus. When I got there the gentleman told me he needed me to take his co-worker to the airport… in Meridian, about 90 miles south. And the co-worker didn’t speak much English, being from Mexico.
So I did that. The rider was a nice man and we had a little bit of conversation. His English was much better than my Spanish.
We stopped on the way past the house to pick up my laptop in case I needed to work from a Wifi hotspot in Meridian after dropping him off. We got to the airport around 8. But all was quiet on the work front and I came on home. I got home about 9:30 AM and jumped into my work day.
That’s by far my biggest day earnings from driving Uber.
