[Today’s run: St. Paul’s Church, 5 miles]
We had a big weekend.
Wife came back from her Phoenix marathon last week and was pretty wiped out. But she had a 50k (31 miles) scheduled for yesterday so I figured it would be smart to go along and do the driving in case her wheels came off.
So I took Friday afternoon off and we drove down to Laurel, MS for the MS-50. It’s a combination 20k/50k/50m event in a national forest down there, 2+ hours south of us. We met up with various other runners and got ourselves set up in a hotel room.
We were up and checked out of the hotel by 4:30 AM and made our way to the start, which involved some minor 4-wheeling in the Lexus sedan.
I sat and read a book most of the day while she ran her 50k in good shape.
Then we drove back home and arrived around 8:45 PM.
We are both very tired.
I went to church today, came home, had lunch, and did a 5 mile run (since I missed my running group yesterday).
I didn’t finish my Coursera course homework for this week. I don’t know if that means they will kick me out of the free class.
One other thing: I put in a low-ball bid on a yet another 1993 Ford F-150 truck, this time over in Starkville. And, guess what… I won. So this week I will be trying to work out how to go and get it. I really hope I can put a battery in it and drive it home. But we will see.
