[today’s run: 3.5 miles]
I remember growing up, hearing the “who’s the fairest of them all” of Snow White, and various other hints that white, unmarked skin is a thing to be had.
I don’t see how that could ever happen in Mississippi. I’ve got bug bites, fly bites, sun burn, chigger bites, funky toe nails, peeling skin and I don’t even get out that much.
The one thing I can say is that I have very efficient pores: on a hot day I go outside and I feel like I’m a human lawn sprinkler, it just comes gushing out all over the place.

Just apply a few layers of foundation and the spray on some tan and nobody will know.
It does make me wonder how they did the Scarlett O’Hara type skin in the south. Even with a giant hat some sun would get through, wouldn’t it?
Pretty much never leave the house!
Yes, the trick is to not do anything outdoors. Instead, have it _done_ (for you).
(I know people who even have _indoor_ things done for them – house cleaning. Can’t be too careful?)
You are absolutely right. With a capitalist system instead of a slavery system, we at least have some comfort of thinking that we are providing something back to the person who does the undesired tasks, and that they work on a more-or-less voluntary basis.
