[Today’s run: 5 miles]
On Thursday and Friday we went to the fair. Thursday we spent some substantial time watching barn/judging events. We saw some sheep judging, horse judging, weighing of the largest boar and of the largest bull. We went through the varied industries building and the agriculture building.
On Wednesday we went revisited the baby critter building and saw the ostrich who Thursday was still pecking his way out of the egg.
Both days we had pork chop on a stick. I don’t know how they cook those things, but they turn out really good.
We happened to see this event on Thursday where they were weighing the largest pumpkins. Can you imagine trying to get one of those on a truck and drive to the fair, then get it off the truck, etc. etc.? I suppose they probably have to use some special techniques when they grow it to avoid it collapsing of it’s own weight.
