Casualties of travel

[Today’s run: 3.5 miles]

We had three casualties of travel on our trip:

1 – When my wife went to use her laptop in the UK the battery was floating around in the bag along with the computer.  I tried to put the battery back on, but it was all puffed up and did not fit.  We left the battery in the UK after concluding it would be better not to have it on another international plane trip.  I have been wrestling with Dell since our return to see if they will replace it under warranty  (purchased Jun 2016).

2 – The wife (again!) lost her hair dryer due to the voltage difference.  And

3 – the extension cord she was using at the time, belonging to our hosts, also fritzed out.  We were hoping the extension cord could be fixed with a new fuse.  (We bought a new hair dryer on return home.)
