Fall storms

[Monday: 3.5 miles; today: 3.5 miles]

After almost no rain since the first half of September, this week we caught up with ourselves a bit.

We had two days of evening storms complete with tornado warnings and some quality time spent sitting in our shelter room:  the bedroom closet.

I was able to listen to our relay of the tornado warning announcements and do a bit of adjusting to our EAS device to try to make the warning sound better.  I also started a bit of a fuss about how bad the warnings were sounding as then came down to me through the EAS distribution system.    There may be some further work in that area.  I think the advice of the old-timers is to get your own weather radio and get the warnings straight from the nearest NWS radio station.  So I have some work to do in that regard.

Otherwise, we didn’t suffer any problem from the weather.  There was some damage about 2 miles away, southeast of us, some trees and fence blown over.

Today I ran Watson Road and took this picture.  One limb blown down but no serious damage that I could see.
