Hectic, did I say Hectic

[Yesterday’s run: 3.5 miles]

I ran yesterday evening and I forgot to make a blog post.

Today was busy, we had a lot of rain.  But my autonomous weather station seems to be stuck at the moment. 🙁  That’s sad.

I was doing some work on a VPN configuration and eventually discovered that my static IP address doesn’t seem to be working.  Sad again! 🙁

And a big article on vox.com says that people who support Trump are quasi-facists who just don’t like social change.  Actually, it says they are “authoritarians” who value stability and social order.   I don’t support Trump, but I can see some reasons why a person would.  All of these people who have been saying that quick social change is going to bring trouble, turns out they were right.  Sad again! 🙁  Who could have thought that people that claimed to be upset about Obamacare and gay “marriage”,  illegal immigration … they actually meant it.  Whoa.  Vox being vox, they take the line that we really could do without these neanderthals, while also pointing out that anyone sufficiently threatened will do the same thing.  You poke people with a stick and they tend to get mad.  Who’d a thunk it?

Which brings me to my final point:  I kind of like President Obama.  I like the idea of President Obama.  But people have been telling me that he’s the most divisive president we’ve ever had.  And I must admit I am starting to agree.  By accelerating social change, and basically leaving a large part of the population with no voice in the changes, he’s ripping the place apart.

I think I’ve wandered off base a bit.

Anyway, lots of stuff going on, both on the home front, the work front, and the wider world.
