Watson Road

[Today’s run: 3.4 miles]

I ran my regular route today which is the out and back down Watson Road.  I start out at our house, run up to Evans Road, over to Watson Road, down that to the end, and then back the way I came.

Our road is blacktop (gravel with chip-seal on the top).  Evans is asphalt, and Watson Road is all gravel.  There is a little bit of uphill on Evans between our road and Watson, then that has a very slight downhill to the end which is about our same elevation.

There is not much traffic on any of these but the section on Evans is definitely the most busy of the three.  Our road and Watson are both dead ends.

They’ve built a new house on Watson Road, about halfway to the end.  And there is another lot that looks like it is being laid out for construction.  At the end of Watson is a gate and a large property.  The people who used to live there passed away in the last few years and I don’t think anyone is living there now.  You cannot see the house from the gate, so it is hard to tell.  But no one has been mowing it all summer.

There are three existing houses on Watson Road, before the new one making four;  it is not heavily populated.  Two land owners hold most of the property on both sides.  There are some cows and horses in the pastures along the way but most of it is just open land.

I don’t know why it is called Watson Road.
