[Today’s run: rest day]
I was in the local mall bookstore the other day, Books A Million, waiting in the checkout line. Like most stores they have some little geegaws at the checkout line for impulse purchases. They have little keychains, reading lights, strange pens/pencils and a few games.
They have a display of these boxes of little “busts”. The display is Goon Squad: 5 Diabolical Dictators. I don’t see the attraction in that, but ok.
They have one “Diabolical Dictator” called “The Gipper” and the bust looks like a hip version of Ronald Reagan wearing a wrap-around glasses like Giordi on Star Trek: Next Generation. They also have fake Lennin, Castro, Kim Jong-il, and Khomeini.
I’ve never put Ronald Reagan in the “dictator” class, myself.
And no, they weren’t selling like hotcakes.
