Worked All States

[Today’s run: Watson road 3.4 miles]

I finally reached Worked All States from my current location.  I had been within a couple of states at the last two places but could never get it completely done.   We are talking LoTW here, not snail-mail postcards.  I have a lot of QSL cards but have never gone through to catalog them.

I don’t think WAS is really that hard. You can use whatever bands and modes you like. The problem, like with any of these awards, is to get the confirmations in the system.

Some people really enjoy going for certificates and awards. Wallpaper, they call it. A lot of special event stations (anniv of the sinking of the Titanic, first/last run of the Pony Express, first transatlantic radio transmission, whatever) will send you a piece of paper if you follow their instructions and send an SASE (and sometimes a bit of $$).

For a nominal fee, ARRL will send you a nice WAS certificate like this one. My wife says we are going to get a frame next trip to Wal-Mart.
