Last Wednesday, I fell for the first time in a very. long. time.
I’ve never been one to fall much. Maybe I’m like a cat? Always landing on me feet?
I think I may have used up three of my nine lives in this week!
Last Wednesday, I took a spill at mile 12 out of my 18 miler. Ran the rest of the way home. MFH (My Favorite Husband) was in Colorado so he really couldn’t come to Mississippi to drive me back to the house.
Sunday, I fell again! Last Wednesday’s fall had been in the dark. Sunday’s was in the bright, hot sunshine.
Today, it was dark and I fell again. *sigh*
I’m not a young 20yo person anymore and these falls are getting uglier and uglier. They flat out hurt and they are taking their toll.
This is my theory:
I was coming down with a head cold last week and shook it off. I didn’t realize it for what it was. I was sneezing quite a bit. Itchy eyes…that kind of thing. Come Sunday, I had a scratchy throat as well. I thought that was odd.
Yesterday, my nose started running like crazy! Ugh!
My head is all clogged up and my balance is off. I recognize that now. Too bad I’m such a slow learner. I could have saved myself a lot of grief! HA!
So, I’m taking until at LEAST Saturday off from running. Going to sit back and take it easy. See if I can’t knock this cold into the next county.
When I got back to the house this morning, my arm was (if you’ll excuse me) dripping blood everywhere. I called MFH from the front porch on my cell phone. I asked him to bring me a damp cloth before I came in. Didn’t want to drip blood on the carpet.
After we cleaned it up a bit, I took this pic. Hope you’re not eating right now or anything! HA!
