I can’t believe it’s finally here!  It was last November (2014) that I received that email in German and I thought, “Huh?”  Then I found the translate button and screamed!!!  Squeeeee!!!

MFH was concerned.  “What’s wrong?” he hollered from his office.

“Um, Sweetie, you’re going to want to renew your Passport.” was my reply.

Hahaha!!!  The things that have happened since that day last November to get us to today and the race tomorrow.  What a whirlwind it’s been!

And here we are.  In Berlin, Germany.  Tomorrow I’m going to run the 3rd largest marathon in the world!

We’ve had a fabulous time here in Berlin this past week.  Tons of sightseeing.  TONS of walking!  Holy Cow!  We’ve averaged 10(ish) miles of walking each day.

Today is my rest day.  I’m not going anywhere.  Call me a lazy daisy but I need to park myself before tomorrow and catch up with myself.

MFH (My Favorite Husband) is off at a laundromat washing the clothes so I can rest.  He’s such a sweetie!  🙂  So, here I am at the hotel doing some online stuff.  I’ve laid out my racing kit for the morning.  Charged my Garmin.  Aside from sleeping tonight (HA!  We all know that isn’t going to happen.  No-body sleeps the night before a race.) I’m ready!

Yesterday we played tourist. That was so much fun!  We did the museum thing.  There are so many great places to visit here.  Everywhere you turn, there are historical things!  Being the history nerd that I am, I’ve been in 7th heaven.  🙂  For example:

We went out for dinner Wednesday evening and were seated next to a couple from Holland.  They were nice people.  Me, being me, ended up talking to them (husband and wife).  They told up about a chocolate place where they make sculptures from Chocolate.  You KNOW I had to check that out!  Hahaha!!!

Pretty Cool Beans stuff!  I wanted to take just a tiny taste.  Just a little one!  MFH said that wasn’t a very good idea.  He’s probably right.  *sigh*

Yesterday evening we went to Oktoberfest!  Seeing as I love beer, being in Germany during Oktoberfest….life doesn’t get much better than that!  HA!  We went early before it got super busy and had a light dinner.  We both got a “small” beer and something to eat.  I about choked when I saw the size of the “small!”  Then I caught sight of the large.  Holy Cow!  Those things were HUGE!!!

My sister had been to France with her husband a few years back and had come home telling me these stories about Nutella Crepes.  I’ve wanted one ever since.  They sounded decadent!

After our “dinner” we were walking around Oktoberfest and found a stand that made those Nutella Crepes!  This was my chance of a lifetime and I seized it.

These fall under the category of Majorly Deadly Food (MDF).  Holy Cow that thing was serious!  I’ve never eaten anything so delicious in my life!  I’m here to tell you, I’m going to need every one of those 26.2 miles tomorrow to run off all the stuff I’ve eaten while we’ve been here!  Hahaha!!!

I also got to meet one of my MFP friends yesterday!  How much fun is that!?!  When you find out one of your online buddies is going to be, not just in the same town but the same country in this case (foreign country, to boot!), you make plans to meet.

MFH and I met up with this guy for lunch before we headed out on all the stuff we wanted to do yesterday.  We had such a nice visit!  This guy will finish at least an hour ahead of me tomorrow but we’ll forgive him for that, right!?!  Have a great race, Derek!

We did ride on a double decked bus two times yesterday.  Once on the bottom and once on the top.  That was fun but I don’t have a pic.  Sad Panda.

I think that is all the stuff we packed into yesterday.  Not much.  HA!

P.S.  Today is my cute as a button little IRun4 buddy’s birthday, too!  He’s 4 years old today.  Happy Birthday, Aiden!!!  🙂
