It Is Over

Today’s Run:  Rest Day

Today, I declared Christmas officially over.

MFH (My Favorite Husband) faithfully brought the boxes that house the holiday decorations into the house from the garage, and I proceeded to pack them all away.  My house is my own again.

There is no more warm glow from the Christmas Tree.  There are no more “Stockings hung by the chimney with care.”  The wreath is out on the curb for the trash collectors in the morning.

Christmas is over.

Am I sad?

Not really.

If you remember, I put everything out a week before Thanksgiving.  My sister and her family were coming over for Thanksgiving because they were going to be traveling for the Christmas holiday.  I was not sure if they were going to be able to decorate their own home for Christmas, so I put my stuff up early so my niece and nephews could enjoy them.

Plus, I had an ulterior motive.

Once I had everything put away, then I could start the process of brewing my first batch of beer!  (refer to yesterday’s blog if you don’t know what I am talking about)

So, yes, everything is all packed away.  I have beer bubbling away.  My house is my own again.

I am content.
