Running and On The Injured List?

Today’s Run:  7.09 miles

We ran today.  We (my husband and I) are in the middle of week 7 of HH (Hal Higdon’s Intermediate I) marathon training program.  When we got back, my foot was killing me.  I took off my shoe right away and the discomfort went away.  This has been happening for a while now but I had a Dr. appointment today and I was looking forward to it.

The Dr. I went to see today was a new Dr.  My past/old Dr had put me on some pain medication that was NOT working.  He, I felt, did not take my upcoming marathon, seriously.  I went prepared to demand answers.

This new Dr. took me seriously!  That was a nice change.  She understood that my upcoming marathon was very important to me.  She took it upon herself to find answers and find them fast.  Enter radiology.

She sent me for another set of x-rays.  AND have a radiologist read them.  This was not done previously.

So, I went and smiled for the camera.  We are waiting on the radiologist report and I go back tomorrow morning to find out about the results.

I do not care if my foot needs to be amputated.  I will run this race!  (hopefully).  If I have to put myself on the injured list for a week or two, so be it but I will run this race.

The fact that my foot does not hurt when I am not running is good.  I just want to know if anything is broken.  “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” right?

So, tomorrow morning, cross your fingers for me.  I will let you know if I am on the injured list or not.  Hopefully, not!
