Waiting

Today’s Run:  Rest day (I’ve got a cold)

My dryer went on strike a week ago.  The heating element went out.  It tumbles just great.  It blows air just great.  It just does not get hot.  Rats.

I have a Samsung front load washer and dryer.  I love them and would not have any other washer and dryer.  I like the fact that they conserves water and energy.  Taking into consideration the amount of laundry I do (average 3 loads a day), those things are important, plus the fact that they hold more laundry (larger capacity) so you don’t have to do as many loads.  They have been a good purchase.

When we moved into our home in Mississippi, we had to buy all new appliances.  So, we went to Lowe’s and bought a new oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, clothes washer and clothes dryer.  The sales person at Lowe’s was very happy!  We had to wait a few days for delivery and it has been smooth sailing, for the most part, ever since.  Until this past weekend.

I did a load of laundry on Monday morning and put them into the dryer.  The dryer sang it’s song when it was done (yes, my washer and dryer sing!) and that’s when I discovered that the clothes were all wet.  And cold.  That was bad.  So, we called the repair person.

I have been waiting for the repair person since Monday.  They promised me that the repair person (it ended up being a man), repairman would be here today.  So, I waited some more.  He finally showed up around 1:30 this afternoon.  He knew right away, just as I did, that the heating element was shot.  Guess what.  He doesn’t carry any parts!!!!!  I have to wait a week for the parts to arrive and then probably another week for him to be able to fit me back into his schedule!!!!

But, I was nice.

I think it stinks, but I was nice.
