High Speed Internet

Today’s run: 45 min. lifting at the “Y”

We have had high speed internet since we moved into our house here in Mississippi.  We had to get it set up special due to the fact that we are in the country and they did not have service in our area.

For the first month we lived here, my husband drove into town and worked from a different facility.  Finally, the internet guys got an antenna on our house.  After a while, they decided that it was pointing in the wrong direction due to the fact that our service was spotty.  They then moved the antenna so it pointed in the opposite direction.  That seemed to do the trick.

About two months ago, our service deteriorated.  If we had bad weather, our service was interrupted.  In the mornings, if there was dew on the trees, the service was interrupted, if the wind blew, if it was cloudy, anything! our service was interrupted.  Bad news for someone who depends on the internet to do his job.

Today the internet guy came back!  Hurray!  He took the antenna off of the house and climbed my husbands ham radio tower.  He attached the internet antenna to the tower and walla!  We now have fast and (hopefully) reliable high speed internet service.  The internet guy said something about how the trees had grown taller and were blocking the signal from the other location.  Whatever.  Now my husband can work without worry and I can check my email and FB as many times a day as I wish.  Utopia.

Internet guy attaching antenna. He is about 40 FT off the ground.
