Cleaning up

[Thursday: 3.2 miles; Saturday: 3.2 miles; Today 3.2 miles]

At the Monday evening running group we had three ladies from the regular attenders, and a gentleman from out of town who was doing a multi-day construction project in Starkville.

I’ve been going through some boxes of assorted electronics and computer parts. At one time I had a USB sound card thing, but I can’t find it. But while I am doing that I’ve been throwing stuff away and consolidating partial boxes into complete boxes. It has been 2-1/2 years since we moved from Dubuque back to Mississippi and I have a lot of junk that either I forget that I had, or I’ve learned to live without it.

While that is going on, I’ve been working more on the radio station computer upgrade. I was having an issue with the broadcast “cuts” running past their end markers. At the same time, I’ve been wanting to put together a workstation so I could more easily put new stuff into the catalog.

I got that workstation put together this past weekend and I practiced my server upgrade script and got that in better condition. On the new workstation the cuts play just fine. Yesterday I tried it on the server and still I get overruns. I ordered a different sound card, a cheap one. I was trying to use a fancy one but it is on the edge of obsolete and I think maybe it’s just too much.

If the new $15 sound card works then we will all know it was the fancy one causing the problem all this time. (I was trying to find the USB sound card to see if I could give it a test. But I can’t find it so I ordered one… which means the USB one will become evident around the day the ordered one arrives)

The world seems a bit more crazy since the attempted shooting of Former President Trump over the weekend. I’m glad he didn’t die. I know a lot of people are really excited about him. It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if the general level of whipped up fear drops down a few notches.

My calorie counting is going reasonably well. I’ve been at it for about 10 days and I’m down 6-7 pounds. My mind is starting to drift, so I need to keep my eye on the goal. The app I am using works OK. I just have to remember to use it.
