[Today’s run: Watson road 3.5 miles]
On yesterday’s run down Watson Road, on the way back I saw this turtle in the road.
Turtles in the road are a common sight in our area. Usually they are about the size of a softball. But this guy was a bit larger. I put my cap down beside him for scale. It looks like his shell would make a nice hat, if he weren’t using it.
I usually don’t mess with turtles, for a couple of reasons: A: I understand they aren’t very clean and B: if you bug them they just lock up and it means that much longer sitting in the road waiting to get hit by a car. So if I do stop to look at one on a busy street I’ll try to move it out of traffic.
