Wear it on your wrist and it goes Tick Tock

[Recent runs: Saturday: 4.5; expected today at lunch: 2.5]

My wonderful wife quickly got tired of my contemplations about whether to buy another running watch, so she ordered one for me. The first one, the one that recently broke, she ordered that one for me too. Once again I am watched*

Work has been good. I have a deadline on the current efforts and that is focusing our attentions in a healthy way.

I’m going to take an hour or two off at the end of the day on Friday so that we can go out to eat in Hattiesburg for M.’s birthday.

*footnote: I heard a song recently that used “shoed” and “gloved” as verbs “I will glove your hands” so I can use watched as a verb meaning that I am wearing a watch, have donned a watch. But it is also a fun wordplay on the GPS thing that goes where ever I go and the habit of runners to post maps of where they run… all of that.

One reply on “Wear it on your wrist and it goes Tick Tock”

Coincidentally (or maybe not) I have three watches that I have had over 20 years and recently decided to toss them or use them so bought batteries. The cheapest and best one for functionality is my Timex “indiglo” that I used in my railroad days around 35 years ago. You push the stem and it lights up (blue background). The other two are Skagen with one being a chronograph that I can’t possibly read the day and date so no more useful than the other two in that regard. They are not expensive but look nice. My rule for going out with people is no phones (which is a common thing nowadays) so they do come in handy if on a schedule. (My personal joke about smart watches is that I wear a “Sitbit.”)
