End of the road

[Today’s run:  end of the road – 5 miles]

This morning I ran up the unfinished part of the new highway as far as Artesia Road where the pavement ends.

They have completely removed the old highway down to the roadbed except for just a bit  between Artesia Road and the Squincher factory that now operates as frontage road/driveway.  And the old bridge is still in place.  The rest of it is dirt.

Some of the old roadbed will be reworked to become part of the northbound roadway of the new divided highway.  Some of the northbound is already in place and paved including the new bridge.  I ran on that paved part and a bit in the muddy part just north of Evans Road.

It was a nice morning for a run.  Temperature the last two days has been very pleasant.

I took a picture at Artesia Road facing back toward the southwest on the unfinished northbound road.  Traffic is using the southbound road (off to the right in this pic)  in a two-lane configuration for now. The Squincher plant is on the far left.  You can see some of the old roadway, now just dirt, in the distance to the left of the trees.
