[Today’s run: 3.4 miles]
I spend a lot of time these days watching videos on youtube. Usually it is background for doing something else.
I like to watch car repair/restoration, wood working, factory processes, boat building, historical firearms, small engine repair, various stuff. And if I want to watch a movie I will check it out on youtube. I may decide I’ve seen enough and I don’t really need to watch the whole thing (like a clifbooks for movies).
The algorithms at youtube quickly adapt to whatever I’ve been watching recently and throw more of the same at me. If I watch a snippet of Iron Man 3 then suddenly I’m getting all sorts of Pacific Rim and Star Trek.
I’m sure their system has me down as a car rebuilding, gun toting, trekkie redneck.

Try “everyday astronaut” Tim Dodd – he is an Iowan that does a pretty good job explaining complicated things in a way that is easy to understand. I do not go to his site – I just find what he’s up to on youtube. It’s an interesting time in the rocket business.
