See through mail

[Yesterday’s run: 3.4 miles (Watson Rd)]

A while ago I signed up for a daily “Informed Delivery” email from the US Postal Service. They send me a message with scans of most of the items they are bringing to our mailbox.

One interesting result of this is that many items I don’t even have to open! The scan is enough to tell me what is inside. I don’t know what kind of scanner they are using.

Now they just need to add a checkbox that lets me dispose of the unwanted stuff before they bring it. They could do that at the originating post office to save a lot of fuel and transport effort!

YOU’RE INVITED

One reply on “See through mail”

Last Christmas a card meant for a previous occupant made it to our place. I lined out the address and wrote the correct address on it and it was picked up.

Then it was on the scanned image email a day or so later but it didn’t arrive at our place.

Then again.

Then the intended received it.

I’m thinking the sorter was seeing the lined out address then the human delivering it would see the lined out situation and not deliver it. Twice.
