Las Vegas

[Sunday: 5.0 miles on treadmill]

I flew into Las Vegas on Saturday for a short visit, a convention for work.

Flying over the rockies it was mostly cloudy.  But the clouds broke up eventually and we could see some snowy peaks.  But then the snowy peaks became dry and when we landed in Vegas it the mountains just looked like piles of red dirt.  Not my favorite landscape.

If I get a chance to get away from the strip I may enjoy the desert a bit.  But so far it has only been flashing lights, cars, concrete and one-armed-bandits.  (and an hour in the “cardio room” on the treadmill)

My least favorite “destination spot” – paved, artificial, glitzy. But there’s history if you start with Huguette (who goo ette ???) Clark and work backwards. (Hint: LV is in Clark County.)

I think it would make a great movie or miniseries but would probably be historically incorrect.
