Ham Radio

Ham radio has been a bit thin

[today’s run: 3.4 miles on Watson Road]

I went for a run in the rain this evening.  It wasn’t raining when I started but commenced after I was about a mile in.  I was somewhat worried about the cell phone in my pocket, but it survived OK.

Tonight I am on the ham radio for the summer 20 meter fox hunt.  I have found the first fox and am listening for the 2nd on my headphones.

My operating log for the ham radio is a bit sparce since the end of the winter fox hunts in April.  With the travel to Colorado and other things going on, I haven’t been on the radio much.   But radio is kind of a winter activity anyway.  The bands are less noisy in the winter.  The thunderstorms in the summer bring up the static level.

I have been working on the FM radio station project a bit.  I think we are going to try to get the antenna up this weekend of the weather looks good.
