Mississippi running

an unneighborly neighbor

[today’s run: 5+ miles]

I ran with my wife today.  We covered some of the same territory that she covered by herself yesterday.  She told me that an old guy in a hunting truck followed her for more than a mile after his accosting her and remarking on how “purdy” she was, multiple times.  Not cool.

So we went that same way and I was hoping to meet the same guy and have some words with him.

But he didn’t show up.

The hunting rig (camo-painted mini-truck) was parked at the little cabin she said the guy came from, so sure enough.  And we know who owns that property from the online records.  I don’t know for sure the guy that talked to her is the owner, but I think it is more than likely.  If it is, the guy is not uneducated or a hick.  But he does have a reputation of workplace sexual harassment  (according to what we’ve read in the papers).

She’s not going to go that way without escort until we get that guy sorted out.

One reply on “an unneighborly neighbor”

I don’t know how things are done in rural MS, but around here one would register some kind of report with the police. In that way there is a record of the event and description of truck and offender. I’d call them to see what they think.
