Overnight and race

[Today’s run: 12k (7.4 miles)]

We drove down to Hattiesburg, MS yesterday in preparation for today’s Steamwhistle 12K, put on by the Pinebelt Pacers running club.

The race director is an old internet acquaintance, Becky Ryder, and she invited us to stay at their place overnight.

We did that and had a great time.  She and her husband were both busy with race details, so we tried to be helpful and unobtrusive, and that worked out fine for everybody.  I had a nice afternoon reading a book in a comfy chair!

We went out to eat last night; I had Red Beans and Rice.

And today we ran the race.  It was a good race:  good weather, well organized, lots of participants, good goomies, a nice heavy sweatshirt in place of the regular T-shirt thing.

I had a lot of fun.

We drove back this afternoon and now we are just  lounging around, catching up on email etc.
