Fishing

[Today’s run: Schaffer’s Chapel – 5 miles]

My #1 son and I have been going fishing on the weekends for awhile now.  Our record of actually catching fish is not too good, but we have a nice time.

Yesterday we tried a new place.  We found the boat ramp on Columbus Lake at Waverly Ferry (west shore, south of US-50).

We found a shady spot and had some success on nightcrawlers fished about 3 ft up from the bottom in ~20 ft deep water.  I pulled in 5 small catfish, each about 6 inches long.  Threw them all back.

It was a nice day to be out, and nice to have some nibbles on the line.

While we were rowing around a woman in another boat asked us where we obtained our oars.  We explained that we made them from lumber purchased at Lowes.  She seemed to be kind of excited about getting some oars herself.
