Plain old Quest

[Today’s run: 3 miles]

It has been almost three years since I had any kind of dealings with Qwest.  I didn’t even know that they changed their name to Century Link.

But today I’ve been back in that mode.  We ordered DSL.  They turned on the DSL.  It works great.  But now we don’t have a dial tone.  I think they got confused because there is a different billing address for the DSL and for the regular phone service.  I think they turned of the regular phone service.

Hope to get it sorted out soon.

Your post bolsters my notion to leave my DSL as is with Netzero. The local phone company, AT&T, has a better (albeit introductory – good for one year) price but mine works well (works _better_ with the WiFi router than if directly wired to my computer). Not having to call customer service is worth something, in my view.

We did get it worked out today. There was a lack of communication between the sales people and the tech people. Once I spoke to the guy in the truck, he knew what needed to be done and had us all set in about 20 minutes.

Hey there, sorry to hear that there was confusion regarding your order of the DSL. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist in the future.

We did get it sorted out.

The guy in the truck came back out. I explained to him that I wanted DSL but not bundled into the current phone account. He said it was necessary to put in another pair of wires and that it was easily done.

When he did that we got our dial tone back on the original line and the DSL on the second pair.
