Invitation to Voter Fraud

[Today’s run: nothing yet]

Imagine you live in a state with a contentious election coming up, one that your side is probably going to lose.  Imagine that the new law requiring identification in order to vote is being held up for state supreme court review and is not yet in effect.

Now imagine you get a flyer in your mailbox that tells you which of your neighbors is likely to not go to the polls, giving names and addresses.

That’s the picture in Wisconsin heading into a big recall election this Tuesday.

I don’t understand the big fuss against voter ID.  I generally don’t like ID laws, because I think they are cumulative:  the electric company needs ID to start a new electric utility service because someone will use the electric bill as ID to get a driver’s license and use the driver’s license to cash a check, etc. etc.  But once we are in that endless loop, I don’t understand how voting is an activity that is exempt.

Be that as it may, the recent move by the “Greater Wisconsin Committee” to give their constituents a handy guide for voter fraud seems a bit over the top.
