Work and eggs

[Today’s run: 2.5 miles on treadmill]

I had some success today at work. I had struggled through yesterday trying to figure out why one configuration and the second configuration were not acting the same on the same source code.

The original configuration was working, but the new setup would not. And the more I looked at the code, the more mystified I was about how the old one ever worked!

Today I made some adjustments to get the new configuration working. I need to finish that up tomorrow and then test it on the old setup to make sure they both work now.

I took about 20 dozen of the duck eggs to a co-worker. I had done that once before when we were piling up too many. I asked him yesterday if he could find a home for these new ones and he said he could.

With the ducks laying 6-7 eggs a day, that means we get at least three dozen a week and we maybe eat 5-6 in a whole week. So I have been giving away eggs to anyone who looks like they might want them. One of the ducks lays eggs so large that they don’t fit in a regular “large” egg carton. So those are piling up in the refrigerator and we usually take from that pile. (I need to figure out how to package those up to.)

When I boxed up for the guy at work I left one dozen in the garage refrigerator and we have the big ones in our fridge and there are the eggs brought in yesterday and today which I haven’t washed yet. So even with the great purge I still have too many.

I will say that my recipe for baked egg custard is just terrific with duck eggs. I made some last week and I even used a bit of heavy cream in place of some of the milk. It was almost too rich.

In other news, I heard from the running-watch company today about potential options for getting my broken GPS watch repaired or replaced. I don’t want to spend a lot on it, so we will see what the options they propose.
