When we moved into this house last July we backed the rental truck up into the yard to the front door.
That worked well for unloading everything into the house but it also left some ruts in the yard. I’ve been mowing over the ruts for most of a year and they seem to be a bit less pronounced but still there.
A week or so ago I ordered delivery of a yard of fill dirt and I shoveled and raked that around to fill things in.
I bought 5 pounds of grass seed at the farm supply store and sprinkled some of that around. But not much happened.
Yesterday I saw that we were in for a couple of days of rain so I went out with my umbrella and seed and really laid it on heavily. And sure enough it rained off an on for about 24 hours. I can see some whispy blades, or I imagine them anyway, probably from the first seeding.
This is about as close to being a farmer as I get.
