My family chipped in and bought me a 4-hour gulf coast fishing trip for my Birthday and Christmas in 2018. We had scheduled it for Friday, April 19th.
On Wednesday I got a call from the charter captain that the weather was not looking good and we would need to reschedule.
Today I called to get it moved to a date in June.
Since I had taken Thursday and Friday off from work I decided to go to our son’s house and help him with a carpentry project. While I was there we also had a storm come through. After doing our work we drove around the area and saw some limbs and trees down in the roads. There were people out already removing the trees and limbs while it was still raining.
Now I know why a southern guy might want a 4×4 truck with a winch on the front: it’s for dragging trees out of the road.
I cancelled my day off on Friday and worked as usual.
