Craft Fairs

Today’s Run:  50 min lifting at the “Y”

Recently I have been contemplating participating in a Craft Fair that will be held this coming August in Jackson, Mississippi.  This really is a great opportunity for people like me who have never done this before.  But, boy, there is a lot of financial obligations to even get through the door before you begin displaying your work.

Did you know that you need a resume’ of other Craft Fairs you have participated in to be accepted in another Craft Fair?  Amazing!  I figured all you had to do was pay the booth fee and show up.  But, no!  In this particular Fair, you have to apply to apply to participate in the Fair.  Well, I have made it through the first application process but have decided that there were too many hoops through which to jump to justify the financial obligation and stress to paint enough paintings to show.

This Craft Fair though has been super!  If you do not have enough merchandise to support one booth, they have a system of “booth buddies” and they will hook you up with other people and you can share a booth and split the fees.  That is very nice and I have been working with them on this but I have elected to pass at this time.

I just want to enjoy my painting.  It is a hobby, not a job.  I do have an etsy site and have some of my paintings there for sale but I do not actively pursue the selling of my paintings.  If you want to see my site it is TiggerMania@etsy.com.  Here is a pic of a commissioned piece that I finished today. It was fun to paint!  Now, I have to figure out my next project.  There really is Joy in Painting!Hibiscus
