[Today’s run: 1 mile warmup then 20 x 100 yards]
For our run today we jogged down to the stop sign and back, which constitutes a mile.
Then we set out markers on the road in front of the house and we ran 100 yard repeats. Some we did easy, some medium and some hard.
My fastest was 14.xx seconds. Let’s call it 15 seconds.
I like doing these runs. Sure they are hard, but I feel like I have accomplished something. So I tried to look at it by the numbers:
Here is a table:
Event | World Record | Me | My time as % of WR |
---|---|---|---|
100 yard dash | 9.07 seconds | 15 seconds | 165% |
10,000 meters | 26:50.63 | 54:54.xx | 205% |
Marathon 26+ miles | 2:03:38 | 4:59:59 | 243% |
You can see that when the race is shorter I am closer to the world record and when the race is longer I am farther from the world record.
I’ll bet you didn’t know, I’m really a sprinter!
