We filed for our LPFM radio station license about 10 years ago. And the FCC has announced that they are going to have another filing window this fall, I think in November (?)
LPFM’s have to be owned by a nonprofit or a government entity or such. And they can’t be owned or controlled by some other organization. And must have principle people who are not already owners or directors of other radio assets.
So no, I’m not able to start up another one, and don’t really want to anyway. My hands are full.
But maybe some other group will take inspiration and start up another all-books station. That would be cool.
