Nope

[Today’s run: 4.4 miles]

This is located not far from our house. The tower is appears to be 50 ft tall, holding up a rotator, a vertical and a 12-element HF beam.

That’s pretty sweet.

But the problem is that they don’t really have a guy wire system in the normal sense. There are three levels. The lowest level of guys have insulators, so maybe they are steel cable, but the two upper levels are just yellow rope. A couple of years in the sun and they won’t be strong enough to peg out a tent.

And I don’t show it in the picture, but the nylon ropes are coming down to fence-post type pipes. So there isn’t any strength in the anchors either.

True! And maybe he is using some new secret sauce that I don’t know about.
I’ve been wrong before.

They do make non-metalic “guy wire”. I don’t think that is what he used.
