Hit the track

[Wednesday: 3+ miles on the track with 3×200 and 3×100]

Last summer I was really fortunate to be able to get some instruction at the big track at MSU in Starkville. This year I have not heard from the coach whether she was going to have the workouts or allow old geezers to come along.

But yesterday we drove into Columbus and I found an open track at the high school. It isn’t their main track but an old one. The rubbery surface is about 50% gone in the inner lanes. But some of the paint markings still show. And it is a track.

So I did 4 laps for warm-up, 3 reps of 200 yds(?), 3 reps of 100 dash, a walking lap and 4 laps of cool-down. That was plenty for now. It has been awhile since I’ve done that kind of thing.
