When I bring up the google search homepage on the chrome browser on my telephone, it shows me some selected “news” items.

The highlighted story from NBC News was headlined: “White House celebrates Melania Trump’s birthday with bizarre photo

Like many news items these days, it has more “bite” in the headline than in the actual text of the article. I was just talking to my son yesterday about another hard hitting headline that made a biting leap from the actual text of it’s article. He told me he learned in journalism school that a headline is meant to be an encapsulation of the article. I told him I think a lot of headlines now days are more like provocative bait meant to real in the reader.

I think it is a great picture, the composition, the colors, the facial expressions… I like it. Nothing “bizarre” about it.

One reply on “I like the picture”

My husband had a birthday just last week. His photo was taken at a restaurant when served dessert with a sparkler in it as we all sang the Happy Birthday song. Friends and family together in a spirit of celebration.

Call me old fashioned.
