On our way back from Colorado we stopped and picked up an auction purchase in Kansas City. It’s a Drake 2B receiver. I’ve heard a lot about the Drake 2B, and this one was very cheap if I could wrangle a way not to pay shipping on it. So I was very pleased to be able to pick it up.
I opened it up today and tested all of the tubes. Everything checked out OK. I sprayed De-Oxit on the switches and such. I need to eventually swap out the old paper capacitors and do an alignment. I’m sitting here listening to it now.

I do not know if you made time for it but this place is quite special – especially in context of 100 years ago…
