Entropy

[today’s run:  Starkville track workout group – 3.5 miles with 8 x 200]

I’ve decided I like to put things together more than trying to keep them that way.

I find some project and it involves some glue and duct tape and spit and I get it working and I feel really good about it.

But then I make the erroneous assumption that is the end of the matter.  A month or a day or a year later the tape comes unstuck or the glue dries up and it all comes to a halt.  Then I have to excavate whatever pitiful clues I left for myself about what I did and where to look about how it was doing what it did when it worked.

One wouldn’t think that electronic things “wear out”.  But they do.  Anything more complicated than a toaster (and a good stout one at that) will be spilling its innards all over the floor long before I am ready to go buy a new one.

I guess it is a sign of affluence: having so much sketchy stuff that at any one time some substantial percentage of the pile is busted.
