An Engine Adventure

[Yesterday: 4 miles at the track including 8×200 with 200 recovery]

Some development on the Short Truck:  I had advertised the engine for sale.  And I got a call earlier this week that a guy was interested.

This afternoon he and a friend came to the house and proceeded to remove the engine from the truck.  It took about 2.5–3 hours.  I was helping on some of it and just watched for most of it. We couldn’t get the transmission detached, so they lifted out both the engine and the transmission at the same time.

It was difficult. The part that elevated it from difficult to an adventure was that it started raining about half way through.

And their wives were calling and asking why they weren’t home yet. And we were trying to keep the engine hoist from tipping to the side and everybody dying.  So it was an adventure!  We got it done and they paid me in cold hard cash.  Everybody won!

I then had some oatmeal for dinner and took a long hot bath.

Maybe!

I need to call the scrap metal place and see if I can roll it in there, or what
preparation they require.

Maybe I can ebay some other parts also.

If I can get another $200 out of it I will be close to even.
