Turning the corner on summer, maybe

[Saturday: 7 miles; today 5 miles]

I ran seven miles on Saturday, walking for three small intervals but doing better than I had been doing most of the summer.

Today I ran with my wife and I did 5 miles and again things went pretty well.

The temperatures and humidity are notedly moderated from the height of summer a month ago.  We may still have some heat spells, but it feels like it may be turning the corner.

Here’s a picture I took awhile ago, but the scene was still there this morning.  This is on a bridge going over the Motley Slough on US-45.  Two hooks from a bungee cord are laying on the roadside but the rubber part is gone.  It’s a strange configuration.  Usually I’ll see the rubber with one hook gone and one remaining.
