More news today on the same-sex marriage issue. Every time something else comes out on this it makes me angry and depressed, again.
Today’s action by the US Supreme Court was to assert that birth certificates are like vanity license plates: more about the person filling them in than any official documentation of facts.
The court extends its bottomless hypocrisy, after having disconnected marriage from reproduction it now disconnects biology from birth certificates at the behest of same-sex couples. Fatherless and motherless children had no legal representation in the case. But who cares about them anyway.

I’m not sure, but I suspect this is already done w parents who have baby via egg and sperm not of the legal parents. The donors have no legal representation. I’ve found a lot of stuff on line, albeit not legalese. So the vanity thing with people wanting children who aren’t biologically theirs isn’t new thanks to science and the legal stuff followed.
