Back in business

[yesterday: 3.5 miles]

We had a nice trip to Colorado.

On the way out I stopped in Des Moines to drop off and collect Christmas presents and other stuff.

Then it was on to Loveland for a couple of days of bachelor life before picking up my 50-mile-runner wife at the Denver airport.  We had some good time with our daughter and I worked four days from the HQ in Ft. Collins.

It was a good trip.

Part way through my phone died, so I picked up a brand new cell phone for the first time in quite awhile.  It is much faster in the computing functions.  The phone part is good also.

We took two days to drive back home from Colorado.  The first day we ran into some ice in western Kansas and detoured down to Garden City, Dodge City, and further south into northern Oklahoma.  We stopped in Perry, OK for the night.  The second day we made it home from Perry without any trouble.

One reply on “Back in business”

I had to map Perry, OK. When I found it, immediately coming to mind was “The Worst Hard Time” – a book I read that was mostly about an area due west of Perry in the dust bowl days.

Also, when I think of OK I think of the trail of tears and how Jackson is on the twenty. That’s always upsetting when I focus on it too much. It’s one thing to say we as a nation realize the egregious acts of the past and move forward. It’s another to have almost everyone in the country carry Jacksons portrait in their wallet.
