Little radio project

[today’s run: 4 miles]

A guy on a ham radio mailing list mentioned that he had made some circuit boards to use an Arduino Nano controller with a cheap ebay dds module to make a dds VFO.

So, I bought the board, the Nano, the dds module and a few other parts and put the thing together.  Today I received the final bit, a 16×2 LCD display.  And sure enough, it works.

This is the second DDS frequency generator in my stack of stuff now.  I’d like to put at least one of them to use in a receiver project.  But it will take some head scratching to figure out how to make that work.

I have some mixer devices. I think I should be able to put together some kind of simple direct conversion receiver.

I’ll have to get out my radio books and see what happens.
