I’ve been having some problems with sciatica pain in my right leg, the result of some kind of overexertion while working on the Ranger spring hangers problem. So I have not been out running since Friday.
Today I finally found the tool I needed to get these old spring hangers off: a cheap angle grinder from Wal-Mart. With the saws-all I could cut the brackets, then hammer them flat and use the angle grinder to grind off the rivet heads. I got the last of the brackets removed and got the final leaf spring bushing melted out with the propane torch.
Today I also ordered the new spring hangers and etc. from the local auto parts store. Everything is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I hope to have made some progress on installation before dark. Maybe I can have things back together by the end of the week.
I have to decide if I want to change the shocks. I also have to find a source for the fancy bolts and clip nuts which hold down the bed.
