[Today’s run: 5 miles with Boardtown Runners]
We have recently been watching episodes of The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes television series on the computer via Netfix.
Our household has a strange history with television viewing.
I grew up watching television every day before school, after school and in the evening. I watched more Gilligan’s Island and Flintstones reruns than was good for me, I am sure.
Soon after getting married The Missus decided that she would rather not have a zombie-fied husband staring at the small portable TV we then owned. So she gave it away to a friend. Our kids came along and we did fine without. I have to admit that we had other similar entertainments like video games and internet (when it came along). Later we again got a set and used it mostly to watch VCR and DVD movies. But for the last year we have been again television-less.
I think it is unlikely we will continue for long.
First of all I am determined not to get into it so much that I am watching by myself or instead of sleeping (or working). I think I like not being zombie-fied. Second, I’m too cheap to pay the Netflix fee after our free month is up, which should be right about the time we finish Sherlock Holmes.
