[Today’s run: rest day]
We recently traveled through Cairo, IL. What a depressing place. It has some handsome old buildings but it also has a whole lot of empty stores.
The funny part is, it looks like a lot of the empty buildings are of fairly recent vintage, 1970’s and onward. So there must have been some reason to be hopeful about business prospects within my lifetime. But not much happening there now.
