Antenna day

[Today’s run: rest day]

I was planning to climb the tower today but did not end up doing so.

Roger, AD5T, very kindly drove down from Smithville with his MFJ antenna analyzer.  Both of us thought that my antenna needed some adjustment, so we were going to spend the morning making it work.

It turned out that I had a loose joint in my feedline but the antenna itself was a pretty good match.  So we left it alone.

I did buy some of the fancier sticky-goop waterproofing tape and applied that to a few of the joints.  I used a couple different kinds.  But both seemed to work about the same.  You stretch the tape to make it more sticky, then wrap the joint with a good overlap.  Then cover with regular vinyl electrical tape.
